Welcome to the Clan Ramsay Association of Australia.  The Clan was founded in 2006 by members of the family of Dr David Ramsay and his wife, Sarah Anne Lord, with considerable interest and input from other Australian branches of Ramsay families.

The visit from Scotland of James H Ramsay, Earl of Dalhousie, in December 2006, prompted the formation of an official clan society. Jamie, as he is known, visited St David's Church to encourage the formation of a Clan Ramsay Association in Australia.

By forming this clan association, we hope to establish a link between the various branches of the Ramsay Family which have established themselves in Australia. By sharing our interest in our common heritage, we can form a bond between families which has existed among clan members for may hundreds of years.

The hope is to bring the various branches of the family together, to share ideas and family news, and to assist those seeking to find their roots in Scotland.

We hope that this will become a site which belongs to many people, with contributions from a wide range of Ramsays. The Clan Society has been set up by the members of the Ramsay Graveyard Committe, which maintains the Ramsay Burial Ground at Haberfield. Eventually it is hoped that the committee for this Clan society will be made up of representatives of all the Australian Ramsays.
