When Dr David Ramsay married Sarah Lord, Sarah brought to the marriage as her dowry the farm at Sunning Hill, which they
named "Dobroyde". On this farm the family flourished. David and Sarah had 9 children, and of these 8 grew to adulthood, with
most marrying and having children. So this was the beginning of the Ramsays of "Dobroyde".
After the death of Dr David Ramsay, Sarah followed the plan that they had devised together. The land was divided between
all the children, and a portion was set aside to build a Church, School, Manse and private Burial Ground.
In later times, large portions of the land was bought by a developer, Richard Stanton, who created the garden suburb
of Haberfield.
